Sandwich Music Group A local group of musicians playing together, learning from each other (with any funds raised from concerts given to charities and local community)

Sandwich Music Group was formed in 1976 to provide an opportunity for orchestral instrument players to play together, and to learn from each other, whilst also raising funds from concerts for other charities/non-profit-making organisations. We rehearse on Thursday evenings 7:15 - 9:00 pm in the United Reformed Church, Cattle Market, Sandwich CT13 9AF. The group plays a wide variety of material, a

nd boasts an experienced and talented musical director and an excellent piano accompanist. We welcome woodwind, brass and string players. We rehearse pieces of music with a view to presenting concerts in support of local charitable organisations' fund raising.

Deal Hoodeners great, as ever!
Lovely audience, sang along with the Teddy Bears' Picnic, and joined in with gusto on one of the Hoodeners' songs. Thank you.

We were happy that Brian Foakes (founder member of SMG) could be there, and say a few words about SMG.
Thanks also to all who assisted with the smooth running of the event - designing and printing programmes and poster, taking money on the door, raffle, refreshments, United Reformed Church for use of the church, and anyone I've forgotten to mention.
The Red Cow - Sandwich contributed £20 to the funds raised - thank you.
