Hi Everyone
Film Club February is coming to Sandness Hall on Saturday 21st February.

First up at 4pm for our younger (and those of any age) viewers is Flow (U, 85 mins) a dreamy animation following a cat as it encounters a variety of other animals on a water-based journey after a great flood. The film beautifully explores the themes of survival, friendship and nature’s beauty. Tickets are £3 on the door for all (Please note: although the film is a U certificate, those under 16 should be accompanied by an adult).

Then at 7.30pm we have a return to form for director Wim Wenders with Perfect Days (PG, 125 mins). The seemingly mundane existence of a Tokyo cleaner is revealed as rewarding and meaningful through the simple delights he finds in life. New friendships develop and old secrets are revealed. Tickets £5 adults, £3 children on the door (under 16s to be accompanied by an adult).

Hi folks
We have a double header coming up on Saturday 15th November at Film Club at Sandness Hall.
The bar will be open for snacks, drinks and ice cream.

First up is Moana 2 (100 mins, PG) showing at 4pm
Tickets are £3
All under 16s should be accompanied by an adult.

Then at 7.30pm we have:

The Outrun (UK, 2023, Nora Fingscheidt, 118 mins, 15)
Rona, home in Orkney, helps her father with the sheep and visits her religious mother. In flashbacks we learn of the childhood events that may have led to her alcoholism and its toll on her life in London. Now sober she tries to make a new start searching for corncrakes and coming to terms with the past and the present. Brilliantly played by Saoirse Ronan, Rona’s struggles are set against the storm battered Orkney landscape where she finds connection and hope amongst the rocks and the people (many with genuine local accents). A film about strength, recovery and the benefits of sea swimming.
