Today our scouts joined scouts from across the region for an amazing event.

Weather was not always favourable but our young people did us proud.

The Scouts were delighted to be joined by Pat and Margaret tonight to lead our Founders Day programme.

It also gave us an opportunity to celebrate Pats 40 years of service to Scouting.

Our young people once again did us proud today as we took part in the Saltcoats Remembrance Parade and Service.

A special shout-out to our dedicated Standard Bearers who led the parade, and our Wreath Layers who represented the group with great respect.

Thank you to St Mary’s church for providing hot rolls and hot chocolate as we warmed up and dried out.

We shall remember them.

🏕️ Why volunteer with Scouts?

Not for the pay (£0 😅)
Not for the glamour (mud & campfire smoke 🔥)
And definitely not for the quiet (20 Beavers = chaos 😆)

We do it for that grin when a young person surprises themselves 🏔️
For the friendships 💕, the laughter 😂, the campfire songs 🎶
For helping them find confidence and their voice 🌈

You can’t buy that.
(But you can put a badge on it 😉🏅)

Join the adventure.
Be the reason they believe they can do anything!

🌟 Celebrating Achievement: Welcome to SAS Explorers and awarding Chief Scout Gold🌟

A huge cheer and warm welcome to all the Scouts who were officially invested into the SAS Explorer Unit! This is a significant step on your Scouting journey, and we can't wait to see you thrive in the coming years.

Chief Scout Gold Award Recipients

We are especially beaming with pride tonight as we celebrated a truly remarkable feat: awarding FIVE Chief Scout Gold Awards! 🏅

This is the highest award that can be achieved in the Scout section, requiring massive dedication across multiple challenges and activities. To earn this award is an incredible achievement in any year, but to achieve five at once is extraordinary!

It's been a long wait—this is the first time we've been able to present the Chief Scout Gold Award since before COVID. We are so proud of the commitment, resilience, and spirit of adventure shown by all our recipients. You've set the bar incredibly high!
Well done everyone! Let the next adventure begin! 🏕️

Cubs and Scouts wrap up warm, bring a waterproof, wear boots or wellies, remember your Neckies and bring a torch 🔦 to get ready for the District Spooky Night tonight at Eglinton Park.

Meeting at 7pm.

Leaders will be there when you arrive to instruct you where to go.

Pick up at 9pm.

I think Ellis summed up why we build our programme round outdoor experiences better than we can.

We loved seeing our young people push their boundaries and challenge themselves this weekend at Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead.

Just to clarify though, none of our young people were sent flying off trees 😝

Another amazing day at Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead!

Our scouts really challenged themselves today with a thrilling game of All Aboard high up on the pole in the ropes course.

They also got to test their aim with some archery before getting creative with raft building. A few of them even got a little soggy testing out their creations!

Everyone is now home, tired but happy after an incredible trip. We're so proud of all their hard work and teamwork!

What a fantastic first full day at Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead! Our scouts have been busy, paddling across the water in canoes and conquering the crag with some thrilling abseiling.
After a well-deserved dinner, we refueled with some treats from the tuck shop and finished the evening with a fun-filled games night.
There's lots more fun planned for tomorrow! We can't wait to see what adventures the scouts get up to next.

Huge THANK YOU from Saltcoats Scout Group to Royal British Legion Scotland Saltcoats, Ardrossan and Stevenston Branch who very generously donated a new ceremonial flag to our group.

We use this flag at ceremonies throughout the year including the annual Rememberance day parade on rememberance Sunday.
