Help Keep Saltburn Cubs Rumbling On! 🪵🔥
In 2019, two parents watched their sons move from Beavers to Cubs. When the long-standing leader retired, Saltburn Cubs faced closure. Those two parents couldn’t let that happen, so we stepped in to help run sessions. Six years later, we are still here and are fully qualified cub scout leaders!
A few years ago, another parent joined us to complete our "perfect trio." However, life is pulling our team mate in too many directions, and he’ll be stepping away this February. Now, we need YOU!
Why join us?
Low Commitment: We only run sessions once every two weeks to balance our full-time jobs and family lives.
Teamwork: We meet once a term (always with snacks!) to plan. We take turns leading sessions, so the prep is shared. Pure fun; we laugh as much as the kids do, highlights this year have included nights away and unplanned river tees plunges during kayak games.
"But I don’t have 'Scout' skills!"
Neither did we! When we started, we were totally new. To this day, we still fumble the Scout Promise and can only manage about two knots between us. Scouting is about giving kids skills for life and great memories—but we only do it because it’s fun for us, too.
