Thank you to Mark the farmer who came and cut the East field in lieu for taking the hay to help feed his animals over winter. We do have other fields that are in need of a cut but some have Hemlock Water dropwort in areas near ditches.

Looking for something fun, free and outdoorsy for the family? Join us at Broken Bridges Nature Reserve for our exciting BioBlitz event on Saturday 4th July!

Help us discover and record as many different species as possible across the reserve. Whether you're a budding wildlife explorer or simply love spending time in nature, there's something for everyone.

🌱 Plant walk – 12pm

Sadly, there is a dead swan beside the path from Middle Street to Spring Bridge. DEFRA have been informed and their website says that they aim to collect dead birds within 48 hours. It does not have any obvious injuries other than an old wing injury. I have put notices up at either end of the path warning dog owners of the risk of avian flu.

Broken Bridges Nature Reserve is having a BioBlitz event on Saturday 4 July from 10:30am. Join experienced naturalists and wildlife watchers and help find and identify as many different species as you can over the course of the day. Just like a real scientific expedition, everything you find will be documented and passed on to local and national databases that monitor wildlife.

This event is part of Safer and Supportive Salisbury's Breathing Spaces programme of events. A city-wide celebration of wellbeing, nature and mini outdoor adventures with free and low-cost activities for all ages.

Fire damage to the BBNR notice board, that the Mens' shed went a lot of trouble to make, at the Northern end (Lower Road). Please could I kindly ask if you see any anti social behaviour like this on the Reserve please report to the Police!
