A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday evening for Dr Steve Tibble's fascinating talk, Templars: The Knights Who Made Britain.
Interest in the event exceeded all expectations. We were forced to move to a larger venue and still found ourselves with a waiting list, demonstrating just how keen Salisbury audiences are to learn more about the much misunderstood Knights Templar.
Drawing on years of research and numerous publications on the subject, Steve separated myth from reality, exploring the remarkable role the Templars played in medieval Britain. He tackled many of the conspiracy theories and misconceptions surrounding the order head-on, reminding us that the real history is more fascinating than fiction.
The evening concluded with a lively Q&A, where audience questions helped place the Templars in their wider historical context and generated plenty of thought-provoking discussion.
Many thanks to Steve for such an engaging and enlightening evening.
