Creative Sticks's wellbeing session this morning focused on dragonflies - the group found damselflies and dragonfly nymohs at the pond before learning to weave a dragonfly from willow. The next session is on Monday 13th July.

We had a lovely chilled Mindful Whittling session on Sunday - the group made tent pegs, mushrooms and butter knives and soaked up some time in nature. The next Woodcraft for Wellbeing session is on Thur 19th March.

Friday was Bird Box Day! 🐣

To celebrate we built 20 new bird nest boxes to go up at Hazel Hill Wood. All possible thanks to funding from the Wessex Water Foundation Environment Fund, managed by Wiltshire Community Foundation

Some families came to the wood today for some den building fun. They practised knots, built some impressive dens and toasted marshmallows on a campfire.
Creative Sticks will be back to run another family event in the Easter holidays.

In this session we will be learning how to carve greenwood with a knife to make tent pegs, butter knives and mushrooms.

Join us for a morning building dens in a beautiful ancient woodland.

We will start by learning a couple of useful knots before splitting into groups to build dens. You can choose whether to build your den with sticks, tarpaulins or ropes or a mixture of all three!

A the end of the session we will gather around a campfire to cook marshmallows.
