The last of this year’s Burns Night events took place last night over at the Glebe Hall in Winterbourne Earls! The picture show Helen, with the illustrious Haggis flanked by Sam with her drum and Malvern on the Pipes.

Sam says that it was a great evening and a good time was had by all!

You may remember That this event was organised as a fundraiser by Helen Wilson of the Borne Valley Scouts, to help fund her attendance at the World Scout Jamboree next year! A wonderful interview with our Pipe Sergeant, Mr Keith Turner by one of our youngest band members: Theo, who obviously has a glittering career as a TV News Anchor or an investigative Journalist in his future as well as being a brilliant drummer.

Good morning folks, just a short note to say that I am very sorry that it’s been so quiet here lately. I’ve just had the first of my bi-lateral knee replacements done this week so in recovery mode: very stiff and very sore but it is the first step (no pun intended) for me towards being able to walk properly again and join the band for real!!!

The Wiltshire Caledonian Pipes and Drums has an amazing year ahead of it! We already have several parades and some amazing new bookings including a military tattoo this summer. We are also appearing at some of our favourite events like the Rainscombe Park Country Fayre over two days!!!

The Band will be holding its AGM on Tuesday the 24th of February at the Shipton Bellinger village Centre to present its accounts for 2025 and to elect its board of trustees and committee members, and to set out our plan for 2026.

So, watch this space, and our website, which will be being updated over the next week or so with lots of new news and events…..

We might even have a very special documentary for you to watch.
