Important Update
from the Allington and Boscombe Community Partnership and The Brunton Memorial Village Hall

On 5th January it was discovered that water pipes had burst in the kitchen area of the Brunton Memorial Hall, resulting in water and steam damage. Damage from condensation has affected ceilings, walls and lights. The damage is extensive, particularly in the kitchen area, and will require extensive repair and refurbishment.

Unfortunately, this will mean that upcoming events in the hall will have to be cancelled for the time being. This includes Bingo on Jan 21st and the Community Cafe on Jan 30th.

The Parish Council have acted swiftly and effectively to ensure that the plumbing has been repaired, dehumidifiers have been ordered to assist the drying out and the systems have been electrically checked. Work is in hand to provide full quotes for the building work and process these through the insurance companies.

What do we need now?
We have to empty all of the cups and plates, mugs and jugs and pots and pans from the kitchen and store them elsewhere in the hall whilst the building work is done.
If you can spare any sturdy boxes or other storage boxes (not too large, as the plates etc are heavy!!) suitable for crockery etc to be stored inside the hall, please let us know by replying here or by email at [email protected] . Collection or drop-off can be arranged.

Updates will be posted here, on village notice boards and in the village email.
