🌟Wessex District Paddlesport Competition🌟

Yesterday, we took part in the Wessex District Paddlesport Competition at Salisbury Unit in perfect weather conditions.☀

There was a fantastic turnout from units across Wessex District, with strong competition in a wide range of events, from 500m and 2k flat water races to the Cross Stream Challenge.

Our cadets performed brilliantly, achieving lots of individual wins and high finishes throughout the day. We’re especially proud to have been crowned overall winners in both the Junior Girls and Open Girls Team results.😃

A huge well done to everyone who took part — and good luck to our paddlers who will now go on to represent us at the Southern Area Paddlesport Competition on 4th July.

We were at our base at Spinnaker Sailing Club today for another busy and rewarding day on the water ⛵🚤

We were sailing and powerboating and we also ran another Windsurfing course for Sea Cadets Whale Island Boat Station, welcoming Cadets from Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Gosport and Milton Keynes Units. Conditions were ideal for our new sailors and the windsurfers, giving everyone a great time on the water. 😎

🌊 A Brilliant Evening on/in the Water ⚓

Last night we made the most of the water with a fantastic session for all our Sea Cadets, Royal Marine Cadets, and Juniors.

From getting out on the water to getting fully involved in it, everyone showed great enthusiasm with plenty of smiles along the way. It’s always great to see our cadets building confidence, learning new skills, and enjoying themselves together.

A big well done to all who took part and thank you to our volunteers who made the evening possible, and got a little wet too.

⚓🌟Royal Naval Parade 2026🌟⚓

Last night we held our Royal Naval Parade for 2026 - and what a fantastic evening it was.

We were honoured to be inspected by Southern Area Officer, Cdr David Grindel RN, who was accompanied by Wessex District Staff.

Our Cadets proudly led the evening, beginning with Colours, commanded by LC Sophie as Parade Commander, followed by the Inspection of the Ship’s Company.

Guests then enjoyed a series of displays around the Unit, giving our VIPs, parents, families, friends and supporters a real insight into what we do. Each group was guided by our Cadets: POC Jack, Cdt Sgt Oli, LC Tamar, LC Jacob and LC Lily.

The evening concluded with Evening Colours and a number of well-deserved presentations to both Cadets and CFAVs.

A huge thank you to all our Cadets, who were exceptional throughout the night and confidently demonstrated what Salisbury Unit is all about. We would also like to thank all our VIPs, parents, family members, friends and supporters for attending, we hope you had a great evening with us.
