On Sunday, we returned to Poole for the Southern Area Sailing and Windsurfing Regatta, with teams competing in the Pico, RS Zest, Junior RS Quest and 5.8m Windsurfing classes. All competitors had qualified as winners from the Wessex District Sailing Regatta.

With a fleet full of experienced and skilled racers, competition was intense throughout the day. Our Cadets rose to the challenge and represented the Unit brilliantly.

Southern Area Rowing & Boat Handling Regatta 2026

On Saturday, we travelled to Poole with eight rowing teams, including our Trinity 500 and Yole racing crews, along with our Rowing Boat Handling Team, all of whom qualified as winners at the Wessex District Regatta.

The Southern Area Regatta brings together District Champions from across the South of England, stretching from Dorset to Oxfordshire and across to Kent. It is an opportunity to compete against the very best crews in the Area.

Our Cadets have trained incredibly hard in preparation for this event, and that dedication certainly paid off, with great results. Every Cadet came home with a Gold or Silver Medal. We are fortunate to have such a fantastic team of Cadets who work so well together, encouraging, supporting, and helping one another throughout the competition.

Their teamwork, determination, and spirit were evident all day, both on and off the water. They represented the Unit with professionalism, resilience, and pride, and we could not be prouder of them.

Well done to all our Cadets and Adult Volunteers for an outstanding day at the Southern Area Regatta.🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️👏
