South Wilts Mencap supports people with learning disabilities; inspiring them to achieve their full potential and enabling them and their families to lead fuller lives. We do many different things…

We run clubs and events for a range of age groups. We provide grants for people with learning disabilities. We run our own holiday company, Breakaway
We work with local organisations and Councils to help make our people’s lives better. We have a charity shop in Salisbury run solely by volunteers.

Adam, our wonderful Chair’s husband, is running the London Marathon in April to raise funds for Mencap and South Wilts Mencap 💪

We are so immensely proud and honoured that he has chosen us as one of his charities. 🫶🏻

And finally, when you come in on a Wednesday you too could be witness to the dress up that goes on with our gentlemen in the afternoon: from colour to dresses you can catch them in all!! And clearly they love it

In keeping with Small Charities week, we celebrated our shop volunteers with a tea party and presented them with an award in recognition for the outstanding contribution they have made in supporting people with learning disabilities. Our volunteers are the backbone of the charity and we are so very grateful for all they do ❤️

Hats, hats and more hats!! We have hats for any occasion! If you need a summer hat, posh hat, fascinator, baseball cap, etc, then come on down to our charity shop on Catherine Street and bag yourself a bargain. The best bit, you will be supporting a wonderful cause in the process! ❤️

The poor volunteers and what I make them do on a Wednesday afternoon (I’m sure they love it really)! 🤦‍♀️😆

If you don’t need a hat, that’s fine, we have so many more bargains and treasures, that I’m convinced you will find something you love! If not, just pop in and say hi.

Who loves a bit of Trivial Pursuit? There is every kind of Trivial Pursuit you can think of on these shelves! Better still, they are a super bargain price so come down to our wonderful little shop on Catherine Street and grab yourself 1 (or 5) of these before they’re all gone!
