South Wilts Mencap supports people with learning disabilities; inspiring them to achieve their full potential and enabling them and their families to lead fuller lives. We do many different things…

We run clubs and events for a range of age groups. We provide grants for people with learning disabilities. We run our own holiday company, Breakaway
We work with local organisations and Councils to help make our people’s lives better. We have a charity shop in Salisbury run solely by volunteers.

I have to apologise, I didn’t upload our charity shop bargain of the week yesterday. This is because the bargain of the week is taking pride of place in my office this morning! I just had to buy it myself 😍

Seeking a Music and Drama Teacher / Student

As many of you are aware, our wonderful teacher, Rachel, is expecting her first child in October. For this reason, she will be on Maternity leave once Musical Theatre Group restarts in September.

We are desperately seeking a music or drama teacher / student to cover in her absence. This position can either be a short term or long term position, depending on the requirements of the successful applicant.

If you are interested, or know of anyone who may be, please contact me via the email address below for more information.

We are more than happy to consider college / university students who would like some more experience in this field and are able to commit to a Tuesday morning during term time. Applicants must be 18 or over and be willing to undertake a DBS.

We are excited to let you know that Jenny’s Bistro are holding an SWM day. 🎉🥰

All profits for that day go towards South Wilts Mencap to help us continue to support our wonderful LD community.

It is being held on Monday 12th May and we would love you to join us for some tasty food and refreshments.

What a great way to start the Easter bank holiday with an amazing morning at our Easter egg hunt & picnic! The weather was glorious too! ☀️

To the team at Salisbury Rugby Club, we are so grateful that you are always so accommodating, and nothing is ever an issue. 🫶🏻

A huge thanks to Fletchwood Alpacas & Sheep and Nathan with Canada and the lambs. You guys truly made it special 🥰
