The event brings together young people aged 13 and can help revitalise town centres by providing an influx of energy, diversity and community spirit. Through taking part in The Teenage Market, young people get the chance to trade at a real event in the heart of their town and be part of a communit

y. Running a Teenage Market can inspire young people to start a business and have a go at trading for the first time. The Teenage Market was created by teenage brothers Tom and Joe Barratt in Stockport, in order to bring more young people to the town's local market, and its success has led retail guru Mary Portas to describe the initiative as being 'unique, innovative and inspiring'.
