Salisbury Recycles for Medic to Medic

Salisbury Recycles for Medic to Medic Recycling waste in Salisbury through schemes (Terracycle) to raise money for Medic to Medic Charity. We thank you in advance for your support.

There are around 20 different schemes that allow you to recycle items that are not collected curbside. Please have a look through the photo album to find the items that are collected and reduce the waste you send to landfill. Perhaps you can get family and friends on board or your employer. We have drop-off locations around the Salisbury area, please contact us for your closest location. All the funds raised support the charity Medic to Medic, charity no. 1149904.

During our time running this recycling scheme we have been able to pay the tuition fees for several students to complete their studies in Malawi. We are currently sponsoring Moses who is in the final stages of his clinical officer training. Clinical Officers are vital in Malawi. They work at a similar level to Resident doctors in the UK and often run the rural clinics/district hospitals. This enables access to medical care to people in rural villages that can not otherwise get to a hospital for treatment. Moses will hopefully graduate later this year!

Did you know we collect all types of jewellery, even if it is broken? If it is in good condition, we can sell it on our eBay charity shop to raise funds. If it is broken, we pass it on to a craftsman in Malawi who converts it into new jewellery which we can then sell to raise funds.

Happy New Year to all of our supporters. We hope you had a peaceful festive season.
Our small volunteer team had lots of things going on towards the end of last year so apologies for our lack of Facebook posts. We hope to share more news over the coming few weeks! Starting with our latest poster of items we can collect for recycling.

Do you have any old beads / broken bracelets or necklaces that you no longer need but don’t know what to do with? Please donate them to us!

This is Alex, he lives in Blantyre, Malawi, is married with a young daughter and he is an artisan with beads!

We gave him a small bag of beads that we had been collecting from broken Jewellry and he’s managed to make over 200 pairs of earrings! It took him about a 3 weeks and we’ve been able to help give him a wage above minimum pay category for this month.

We will be selling these at market stalls and at our online eBay charity shop for fundraising for our Malawian students but we would love to do more.

Mrs Kamoto our maid is a whizz on the sewing machine and she’ll help up to put together recycled earring bags from small Chitenje scraps (more upcycling and reducing our waste!).

We’ll let you know when they’re back in the UK and ready for some sales, but in the meantime we’d love to collect any beads or buttons that are loitering in drawers that you no longer need!

Please drop off to our drop off points and they’ll head out to Malawi with elective students in 2026.
