πŸ“£CAN YOU SPARE AN HOUR TO HELP US GET MEN MATTERS OUT THERE?πŸ‘£

We need a small army of willing volunteers to help us spread the word about Men Matters 2026 across Salisbury!

On Monday 14 September, we’re inviting volunteers to meet us at:

πŸ“ The Salisbury Pantry, 59 Catherine Street, Salisbury
⏰ Any time between 1pm and 3pm

The mission is simple: grab a bundle of posters, some Blu Tack or drawing pins, and head out around Salisbury to ask shops, cafΓ©s, bars, surgeries, community venues and other local businesses if they will put one up.

You don't need any special skills - just be happy to walk around Salisbury, pop into places and say:

β€œHello! Would you be willing to put up a poster for a local men's wellbeing event?β€πŸ˜Š

You can do as much or as little as you like. An hour would be fantastic, but if you can give us longer, even better!

Free tea or coffee for everyone who comes along to help!

Men Matters is all about helping men discover the activities, support, friendship and opportunities available to them locally and getting the posters up around the city is a really important part of making sure men hear about it.

So, if you can spare an hour on Monday afternoon, come along to 59 Catherine Street between 1pm and 3pm.

Bring your walking shoes, your best β€œcan we put a poster up?” smile and we'll provide the rest! πŸ’ͺ

Please share this post - the more volunteers we have, the more of Salisbury we can reach.

Look out for this excellent free event that is being run by one of our network members.

πŸŒΏπŸ’š For the final day of (5 July) we've got three fantastic ways to round things.

🧘 9:30am – Park Yoga in Lizzie Gardens. Start your Sunday with a relaxing hour of movement in the fresh air.

🚴 10:00am – Join COGS for a cycle ride to Langford Lakes via the back road. A great way to enjoy the countryside on two wheels. Rendezvous at the Leisure Centre.

🌱 All day from 10am-3pm get hands-on with Salisbury Wildlife Group at the Avon Valley Nature Reserve for a conservation session. Please park at Five Rivers Leisure Centre before making your way to the reserve.

β˜€οΈ Whatever you choose, dress appropriately for the activity and the weather, wear sunscreen, and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped make Breathing Spaces Salisbury happen – our organisers, volunteers, partner groups and everyone who has taken part. We hope this week has inspired you to discover new places, meet new people, connect with local groups, and experience the many wellbeing benefits of spending time in nature. 🌼🌳

Here's to continuing your outdoor adventures long after Breathing Spaces has finished!

Someone's paying attention! I heard part of Andy Burnham's interview with Andrew Marr on LBC and he said in the UK people need more Breathing Spaces. We couldn't agree more, Andy!
