Yesterday, we got together to practise speaking English, build confidence and get to know each other. Our first topic was Personal Details — introducing ourselves. 💬🌍

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, having conversations and supporting each other. ❤️

What a fantastic couple of weeks of learning in our English classes! 📚✨

Our learners have been working hard, building confidence and developing their English skills through practical and engaging activities. From practising grammar and vocabulary to speaking, listening and sharing ideas, it has been wonderful to see everyone getting involved and supporting each other.

A very special THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers, Bibiana and Christan, for your time, patience and support. ❤️ Your help makes such a difference to our learners and to the atmosphere in our classroom. We truly appreciate everything you do!

Emma is our new ESOL teacher, bringing over 11 years of experience supporting young people and adults across ESOL, Functional Skills and academic settings. She currently works as an ESOL and Functional Skills Teacher at The Manchester College, where she plans and delivers lessons tailored to learners’ needs and goals.

Emma holds a PGCE in Higher Education, QTLS and a CELTA qualification, alongside a BSc in Psychology and Counselling. She is passionate about creating engaging, inclusive lessons that build learners’ confidence, communication skills and independence. She also has extensive experience supporting learners with exam preparation, employability and integration.

We’re delighted to welcome Emma to the Speak and Belong team! 💙

What a lovely time we had at our latest Learn, Play & Grow session! 💛

This week was all about GLOW — exploring, playing, learning and having fun together with our little ones. 🌈🧸✨

Our sessions are a relaxed and welcoming space for children and their grown-ups to learn through play, build confidence, make friends and belong. 💕

Our Business English class! 😊 With funding and support from Forever Manchester, our learners are developing their English while exploring different industries, departments, workplace skills and their plans for the future.

There’s been plenty of learning, great conversations, good energy and, of course, lots of laughter along the way! 🙌📚
