Very average swimmers getting in icy water for the homeless!
We’re a group of friends who work in Salford who swim for fun and competition in the world’s craziest sport of ice swimming, raising money for the homeless whenever we can. We’re not great athletes, but we always try our best! We are here to prove that the world’s toughest sport ice swimming should not only be for highly trained athletes. Sport is for everyone, and we hope our example will inspire you to do something awesome today!
We will be entering the UK Cold Water Swimming Championships on Saturday 26th January 2019. We hope to come back in one piece, but we have no expectations of glory!
We’re raising money for the Breakfast Club project in Salford, which gives homeless people a good breakfast and a place to read a newspaper in peace in the mornings, and also provides a space in the afternoons for them to have access to health and dental treatment, and Centrepoint, the children’s homeless charity.
