Mountain Leader Training Course

Do you have a passion for the outdoors?, Have you ever thought about qualifying as a Mountain Leader?
We are pleased to announce that we are putting on our very own in-house Mountain Leader training course based in North Wales.
This course is heavily subsidised and brings the cost price down to 1/4 of the normal price.

There are a couple of prerequisites that most will already have from your time in the military and outdoor adventures

* You must be at least 18 years old
* You should have at least a year’s worth of mountain walking experience ( 20 QMD’s) https://www.mountain-training.org/help/frequently-asked-questions/what-is-a-quality-day/
* You should have an interest in leading groups in the mountains
* You must be a member (club or individual) of a mountaineering council (BMC, Mountaineering Ireland, Mountaineering Scotland).

Fri 10th - Sun 12th July

Adventure weekend down Weymouth / Poole in July.

Friday - klepper kayak around Portland or foul weather option staying close to the cliffs and paddle to Durdle Door / Lulworth cove , beers that night

Saturday - Yomp some of the south coast path , bivvy out on the Sat night , crack and bit further next day to RV then RIB ride back to Portland on the Sunday (TBC) , de service and bomb burst home.

We have 5 x 2 man klepper kayaks , please bring own PFD if you have them

We have 5 x 3 man tents spare that can be borrowed so don’t worry if you don’t have one

Military Vehicles, Military Stands, Stalls and activities, Rugby and Community organisations, inflatable obstacle courses, Zorbs, a FAIRGROUND and more and more!
The rugby… FOUR amazing back to back Armed Forces games with a fantastic Junior Rugby curtain raiser!!
The curtain raiser starts the day at 10:00 with a 3 way Masters Rugby League festival Crosfields Rugby League Masters Vs United Kingdom Armed Forces Rugby League Masters Vs the GB Police Rugby League Masters
Then…
Game 1 at 11:30 gets the senior rugby off to a BANG and sees the annual rematch as the Royal Marines Rugby League once again go into battle against the 'Young Guns' of the Army Rugby League Development XIII. The Army went back to back and took the spoils last year to lift the 'Birdsall Bowl', but we KNOW the 'Bootnecks' are spoiling for this one!
This game always promises to be an absolute belter, hard fast and aggressive rugby league!
Kicking off at 1:30 Game 2 the local all Infantry derby is back as The Mercian Regiment return from Operations to take on The Duke Of Lancaster's Regiment It’s a game of epic proportions, mate against mate with Regimental pride at stake and one of the most bone crunching games that you’ll see all year, don’t miss this!
Game 3 and, let's not mess about... the MAIN EVENT of the Armed Forces Day and the 'Sephton 'Trophy Festival. Kicking off at 3:30 The Crosfields ARLFC Select XIII will once again take on the might of the Army Rugby League Senior XIII!
2025 saw the Army retake the trophy from a Crosfields Team packed full of talent. End to end spectacular Rugby League, the players putting their body on the line for their mates and comrades time and time again. A stunning display of a will to win that has been instilled in them over generations ... and the Army side isn’t bad either!
Join us on Armed Forces Day for the very best in Rugby.
But there’s so much more than ‘just’ the rugby on display.
The fantastic FREE festival is a wonderful day out with FREE gifts and activities for the kids, Inflatable Obstacle Courses, Paintball and Airsoft Rifle ranges, Fairground rides and stalls, Face painting, even LazerQuest and Zorbs! Then there are the Armed Forces information stands, stalls displays and military vehicles to climb all over! There are activities to keep EVERYONE interested and occupied!
