This World Mental Health Day, we’re proud to share a sneak peek of our new short film.

The official theme for World Mental Health Day 2026 is “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change”, and we can think of no better way to mark the day than by sharing the story of one of the people we’ve supported through our Advocacy Service.

For more than 50 years, Mind in Salford has worked alongside local people experiencing mental health challenges, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld. This powerful short film features a service user sharing their lived experience and the difference advocacy support made during a difficult time in their life.

The film also includes reflections from our CEO, who shares the story of Mind in Salford, our impact across the city, and our ongoing commitment to putting lived experience at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this story to life and to those who continue to share their experiences to help create understanding, challenge stigma and inspire change.

🎥 Watch our sneak peek and hear a real voice behind the theme: “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”

We're looking for a compassionate and experienced Welfare Rights & Debt Adviser to join our team at Mind in Salford. You'll provide practical support to people experiencing mental health difficulties, helping them access welfare benefits, manage debt, improve financial wellbeing and navigate challenging circumstances.

Working directly with clients, you'll manage a caseload, deliver person-centered advice and advocacy, and collaborate with colleagues and partner organisations to ensure people receive the support they need. You'll also contribute to improving services and using frontline insights to help shape our wider work across Salford.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives while working for a local mental health charity committed to wellbeing, inclusion and social change. 💙

Double your impact this Christmas!

From 1-8 December, every donation to Mind in Salford through the Big Give Christmas Challenge will be doubled, meaning twice the support for people experiencing loneliness and isolation across Salford and Greater Manchester.

This winter, we're funding free wellbeing sessions designed to help people connect, build confidence and improve their mental health through activities like:
Winter crafts
Mindful walks
Gentle movement sessions

Loneliness affects around 1 in 4 adults in the UK, and for many people the festive season can be the hardest time of year. Your support will help local people access welcoming spaces, meaningful connections and mental health support when they need it most.

Here are a few ways you can help:
Put aside £2 a week ready for campaign week
Start a collection pot at work
Display one of our campaign posters in your community
Sign up to our newsletter to stay updated on the campaign

Every pound donated between 1-8 December will be matched while funds last, doubling your impact and helping us reach even more people this winter.
