Dormer St Margarets Lodge No.5588 in the register of UGLE, in the Province of East Lancashire, meeting at Hemsley House, The C These we refer to as: Brotherly love, relief and truth.

It is a body of men united with the same aims: Friendship charity integrity. Brotherly Love: Showing tolerance, fairness, respect and kindness to others. Relief: Practising charity and care for freemasons and the community as a whole. Truth: Honesty and high moral standards in life. Freemasonry teaches moral lessons and citizenship through participation in symbolic 'plays' which we refer to as 'ceremonies'.

A great afternoon at Salford Masonic Hall with 80+ guests enjoying a Christmas lunch followed by entertainment from the Boarshurst Brass band playing traditional and modern Christmas music, and some excellent audience participation. The raffle raised a substantial amount that will go to support different charitable organisations. Was that Santa on percussion????

Friday the 21st November saw WBro Syd Halliday celebrate his Fifty years in Freemasonry with a presentation of his Certificate from The Provincial Grand Master from our newly promoted Assistant Provincial Grand Master for the City West Area accompanied by a deputation of Area Officers, members of the Lodge and Syds wife and family and many friends both in and out of Freemasonry. It was an excellent evening with 80 guests in attendance and a fitting tribute to a very deserving member of the Craft. Syd has also been a member of the Salford Masonic Hall building team for over 30years and he received thanks and a gift from the Hall Chairman for all his hard work.

Members of Dormer St Margaret's Lodge attended the East Lancashire Provincial Grand Lodge today to celebrate with the brethren who had been recognised for the work they do in lodge, for charity or other good deeds in the community. Sunday afternoon and a great afternoon tea was consumed by over 30 members, family and friends of the lodge. A lovely atmosphere in the dining room, lots of catching up after the summer recess and an introduction to prospective candidates to the lodge. Thanks to Mark Rainsford and his team for the excellent food and service. Of course it was all in aid of raising funds for our charity fund and along with the raffle £300 was raised.
