First things first. The social history of the building is just as important as the building itself. What memories or facts, photos, myths and legends do you have about the Gothic Chapel and Agecroft Cemetery? As well as working towards getting the building secured and restored we really need to brings it's social history back to life too. Thanks for taking the time to share any of your memories, knowledge or old and new photographs with us. ☺️😁

Welcome to our page. The home of ACRA - Agecroft Chapel Restoration Association. We are a group of local people from around Salford that came together to help save, restore and bring back into community use the Gothic Chapel in Agecroft Cemetery, Salford. The group formed from a number of local passionate people, worried about the future of such an amazing and interesting historic building. Who set about doing all they could to save the Chapel by meeting up every Saturday outside the fence come rain or shine to highlight the plight of the derelict Gothic Chapel. The rest is history as they say! Special thanks to Alan Whitehead, family and friends for leading the charge then passing over the reigns to the people who would form a committee, name themselves ACRA and then apply to become a charity. Thanks to all who helped shine a spotlight onto the Chapel along the way. We are ready to roll with raising funds once the Council have sorted a few things at their end. In the meantime we are always on the look out for new members of the committee and supporters. All our contact information should be contained within this page. Any teething problems you find, please let us know. So, JOIN US! IT'S GOING TO TAKE A CITY, THE CITY OF SALFORD and beyond to help us get the Chapel back on it's feet and it's going to be worth the blummin ride. Salford is going to get to keep this one! πŸ‘

Thanks everyone.

Hilary Curran - Chair of ACRA.
