Over the weekend Salford came to life with the Salford Everywhere project!

This public artwork saw over 1553 Salford residents projected at scale onto building in Salford as part of the centenary celebration!

Did you know that taking 10 minutes out of your day to read can instantly boost your mental health and wellbeing.

Reading can help you relax, boost your mood and find connection. It's an easy escape from the day to day routine.

That's why , with our friends National Literacy Trust in Salford we are encouraging people of all ages to drop everything and read for 10 minutes at 10am on 10th October for World Mental Health Day the UK!

It doesn't matter what you read. It could be a book, graphic novel, an audiobook on , newspaper, cooking recipe, anything that takes your interest, read it.

We had a fantastic time at the Walk the Plank even at Eccles on Sunday. Celebrating the return of Eccles Artisan Market, we introduced people to all the library has to offer and got creative with our storyboard where children and families could add their own picture to the story.

Do you love reading but feel you are short on time? Would you like to connect with other readers in the community?

Our Short Story Reading Group offers a great way to discuss stories in an informal and enjoyable setting.

The group meets at Walkden Library on the first Tuesday of every month from 7-8:30pm.

Copies of the stories can be collected at Walkden Library beforehand and the group will discuss two stories at a meeting.
