Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing some more stories from local families to give you a true glimpse into the impact our service has across the community.

Our volunteers provide a lifeline to parents across Salford during those intense early days.

Would you like to support a new or expectant Mum with breastfeeding?

If you live in Salford, have experience of breastfeeding your baby for at least 12 weeks, and are interested in this exciting opportunity to support parents to breastfeed, we would really like to hear from you. In return you will get free NCT (National Childbirth Trust) Breastfeeding Peer Support training for 10 weeks which is due to start in September 2026!

At Salford Infant Feeding Peer Support Service, we’re now reaching out to new mums directly to offer a helping hand.

But remember: you don’t have to wait for our call!

Whether you’re a parent-to-be or already on your journey, we’re here for breastfeeding, bottle feeding or just a friendly chat at one of our local groups.

How to connect with us:

- Ask your midwife or health visitor to link us up.

🏃‍♀️ Meet the woman running for our community!

We are so excited to introduce Serena, who is taking on the Edinburgh Half Marathon to support Home-Start Trafford, Salford and Wigan.

Training for a half marathon is a huge commitment, but Serena is motivated by a simple goal: ensuring that no parent in our local area has to face their hardest days alone.

She’s putting in the miles so we can keep providing vital support to families with young children.

Tears, laughter, and a whole lot of inspiration! 🥹✨

We loved hosting the Co-CEO’s, Natalie Acton & Jodie Reed, of Home-Start UK yesterday!

From Georgia’s moving vulnerable family success story to Rhianwyn’s update on our Salford Infant Feeding support, the energy was incredible.

Special shoutout to our volunteers for sharing their “why,” and to our Trustees Neil and Janet for their unwavering leadership.

We’re so proud of the work being done across Trafford, Salford and Wigan.

Together, we’re building a stronger future for families. 🏠💪
