Celebrating a fantastic year! 🏆

Last week we came together for our Annual Awards Evening to celebrate the incredible achievements of our young people throughout the BB year.

From badges and certificates to medals and trophies, it was wonderful to recognise the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm shown by everyone over the year. Every award represents new skills learned, challenges overcome, friendships made and memories created.

We’re so proud of each and every one of our members 🙌🏼 Congratulations to all of our award winners, we can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve next year!

As we head towards the end of another Boys’ Brigade session and get ready for our summer break, we thought we’d ask our leaders one simple question…

Why do you choose to volunteer? ✨

From seeing young people grow in confidence, to building lasting friendships and making a difference in our community, every leader has their own reason for giving their time.

Volunteering is incredibly rewarding, and there’s a place for everyone – whether you can help every week, occasionally, or behind the scenes.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved and making a difference in the lives of local children and young people, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch to find out more about joining our volunteer team.

🍫 Happy World Chocolate Day! 🍫

To celebrate, our Company & Seniors got stuck into a blindfolded chocolate taste test at last night! 😄

The first challenge was to identify a selection of chocolates using nothing but their sense of taste. Then came the tougher test… could they work out which brand each piece of milk chocolate came from? 🤔

There were some impressive guesses (and a few very confident wrong answers! 😂), but one team showed they really knew their chocolate, finishing with a perfect score! 🏆👏

We’re just glad we had our chocolate night before the heatwave struck 🥵

🎲 What a day! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Yesterday we took on the Monopoly Challenge, racing across Manchester and Salford against teams from Boys' Brigade in Nottingham (28th Nottingham BB & GA) and to see who could visit as many locations from the board as possible in just 5 hours!

There were plenty of laughs and lots of determination along the way. By the end of the day we’d walked over 7.5 miles (or should we say ran 7.5 miles in some cases! 🤣).

A huge congratulations to our B Team, who took the overall win! 🏆 We’re so proud of everyone’s teamwork, enthusiasm and encouragement throughout the day.

Thanks to everyone who organised such a fantastic event - we’re already looking forward to the next challenge! 🎉

As Volunteer’s Week 2026 comes to an end, we wanted to finish by hearing from the people who matter most …

Who better to say thank you than our young people and parents?

We are lucky to have such a great team of 19 volunteers who give their time, energy and care. Their impact goes far beyond what is seen on a Monday night.

To every one of our volunteers, thank you for everything you do. This simply would not be possible without you 🙌🏼

Two weeks ago we were getting ready to go to Unite… and we’re still talking about it! 🙌🏼

We asked some of our young people what their favourite part of the weekend was, and the answers said it all 💬

From trying something new, to the silent disco, and cheering everyone on at Unite’s Got Talent 🎤
But the best part was simply having fun together with friends. ✨

Unite gave our young people the chance to laugh, grow in confidence, make memories and enjoy every moment together.

Already counting down to next year…

A few weeks ago our Anchors and Juniors came together to explore the difference between good manners and bad manners… with the help of our Manner Monsters 👾

We played the Manners Monster board game and worked together to spot positive behaviours, challenge unkind habits and think about how our actions affect others.

There were plenty of laughs along the way, but also some brilliant conversations about kindness, respect and treating others well.

We finished off the evening by getting active with some team games in the sports hall 💪🏼

This Monday, our Anchors had a great evening learning all about fish! 🐟

We explored how pollution in our rivers and oceans can affect sea life and talked about ways we can all help protect the environment. 🌍

They also discovered some Bible stories involving fish, learning how God can use even the smallest things in amazing ways. ✨

Roscoe won Anchor of the Night - well done Roscoe!! 🙌🏼
