Was He In The Right Place?
Of Course He Was, God Had A Plan!
Mr R walked into our food club last week; he thought it was a food bank. He was very much in need and was looking for help. He was welcomed in and given plenty of food and it was explained to him the difference. A food bank needs a referral; the person goes along to a designated pick-up point with their referral and is given an emergency ambient food parcel. It usually contains pasta, tea bags, toilet roll, biscuits, tin of beans, that sort of thing
Whereas a food club has members, ours costs £5 per year to join, then you can come each time it is open and do an independent shop just like you would at a supermarket. Each shop costs £4 and generally has a worth of over £20. Obviously what is available at each session is dependant on what is available to us and what is donated. Our food club is open every Monday 11am -1:30pm and every Thursday 12pm – 2:30pm at St. Thomas’s Church Pendleton.
Mr R had a lovely conversation with Janet at our food club where he shared that he was really struggling. Janet offered prayer – he became emotional and right there and then he was led to the LORD. With a tear in his eye he accepted Jesus into his heart and said he will be coming to church.
Amen!
