Due to the high temperatures, the Wednesday Wetlands Walk and the Thursday Salford City Moors Walk are cancelled.

🌞🌑 We created our very own solar eclipse today! 🌑🌞

And the timing couldn’t be better because tomorrow, Wednesday 12th August, the UK will experience a spectacular partial solar eclipse! 🌘

The Moon will pass in front of the Sun, covering around 90–96% of the Sun across much of the UK. Here in Salford the eclipse will begin at around 6:13pm, reach its maximum at around 7:09pm

It won’t be a total eclipse here, but the sky should become noticeably dimmer as the Moon covers most of the Sun. 🌅

☀️ Remember: never look directly at the Sun! Proper solar eclipse glasses or a safe indirect viewing method should always be used.

What a bee-utiful afternoon we spent at Bee Corner, learning all about the incredible world of bees while bringing the Salford community together. We discovered fascinating facts about honey, the important role of the queen bee, how bee hives work, and the many uses of beeswax. We were amazed to learn that Bee Corner is home to over 1 million bees living across 6 thriving hives! After our bee-filled adventure, we enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful garden alongside Bruce the friendly dog, watching the robins, enjoying refreshments, and taking in the peaceful meadow surroundings complete with bee ponds. It was the perfect way to connect with nature, learn something new, and spend time together. A massive thank you to everyone at Bee Corner for making us feel so welcome—we all left absolutely buzzing! 🐝🌼🍯
