Today our team of waste warriors had a day off from picking litter, Instead they made a start on their Environment & Sustainability activity packs Carol Davies made up for them so they can learn more about ways to love our planet.

They had word searches, poster making kits and a questionnaire about litter picking to keep them occupied, all in the dry and out of the pouring rain.

Lots of questions were asked by the group, it was interesting to learn more about their views and ideas.

Looking forward to next week's final session for 2024 so we can give them all a token gift of appreciation for the hard work they have put in this year.

We have identified an issue of environmental concern relating to the illegal use of banned polystyrene single use packaging taking place in the Pheobe Street area of Ordsall in Salford.

We have eliminated both Morrisons Daily & Greggs stores who seem to be observing the law responsibly.

That leaves the following food outlets as potential suspects so we give them fair warning to rectify the situation and cease their usage or face our further covert investigations to identify the culprit:

Food Station
MunchyHub
Taste of Hong Kong

As soon as the outlet responsible is identified we will duly report our findings to the Food Standards Agency who we hope considers prosecution for blatant breech of this important law that has been implemented to protect both our local environment & also to tackle our increased concerns surrounding climate change.
