A huge thank you to Salford Community Leisure and Basketball England for this fantastic giveaway for our young basketball players! 🙌🏽

It was lovely to see their reactions as they discovered their new trainers, and to hear how much their families appreciated the surprise. One parent shared:

“Thank you so much for your support and for all the effort you’ve put into basketball. This is very important, and I truly value it.”

Gestures like this make a real difference, helping our young people feel seen, valued and supported. 💙

🎨💛 Colours, emotions & movement!

Today at Roots & Rhythms, our little ones explored emotions. The storybook "The Colour Monster" help them diclscover how different colours can represent different emotions. 🌈📚
We followed story time with a joyful children & parents Capoeira session full of movement, music and smiles! 🤸🏽‍♀️✨
We ended the morning with a healthy snack for the children, while parents had time to chat, connect and build new friendships. 💬💚

Families can also stay afterwards and enjoy Pendleton Library’s lovely children’s area, with a wonderful selection of multilingual books to help nurture a love of reading from the early years. 📖💛

Our basketball sessions have been bringing young people together for over three years, and we’re now looking for new players to join us!

No previous basketball experience is needed. Just come along, meet the group and give it a go.

📅 Upcoming sessions: 26 September, 3 & 10 October
📍 Salford Youth Zone

The sessions are FREE, and players who enjoy the trial are welcome to continue attending afterwards (also free of charge).

We’re also working towards developing the group into a formal basketball team in the future, so this is a great time to get involved and be part of the journey.

What a beautiful second week for our second Roots & Rhythms cohort! 💛
Today’s session was filled with laughter, surprises and lots of new friendships beginning to grow.
We started with a lovely visit from our friends at the Health Improvement Team, who popped in with some great oral health gifts and giveaways for our families. 🦷✨
Then we enjoyed story time with the beautiful bilingual book “Where AM I From?”- a perfect choice for a group that today brought together families from 11 different nationalities. 🌍❤️
And of course, one of the most awaited parts of the session… Capoeira! 🥁🤸‍♀️ This week even the mums were down on the floor joining in with the movement, laughter and fun!
After all that energy, we finished with some lovely healthy snacks and more time to chat, connect and build new friendships.
Roots & Rhythms is becoming such a special space for children and parents to connect, learn, move and grow together.

We can’t wait for next week! 💛
