In developed countries, a person with standard albinism has a normal life expectancy, identical to that of the general population. However, in regions where ultraviolet radiation is intense and access to healthcare or sun protection is limited – such as parts of sub-Saharan Africa – life expectancy can drop considerably, often below 30 to 40 years, mainly due to aggressive skin cancers.

Our mission is to save lives. For the past three years, « HOPE OF ALBINISM » association has distributed 3,000 sunscreens to associations, children, and adults with albinism in the DRC, without any government support. On the occasion of International Albinism Awareness Day, we express our solidarity with all people living with albinism in the DRC and around the world, as well as with all our partners, and we continue our efforts to achieve our mission goals this year:

Our mission is to save lives. For the past three years, the "HOPE OF ALBINISM" association has distributed 3,000 sunscreens to associations, children, and adults with albinism in the DRC, without any government support.
