🚲 Could you be the driving force behind a new network of walking buses and bike buses in Trafford and Manchester?

Walk Ride GM has launched an ambitious new pilot project to establish the UK’s first coordinated network of walking and cycling buses for school travel.

The project will test a scalable model for helping more children travel to school actively, safely and sustainably. The pilot will initially focus on Manchester and Trafford, working with local authorities, schools and community partners to connect routes, support volunteers and build a coordinated system that can grow across the city region.

Brilliant!

Families in Stretford are making the most of the new A56 cycle lanes with a Bike Bus that’s proving a wheely big hit. 🚲

Meeting every Friday on the regenerated Kingsway, families ride together to Victoria Park Junior School, supported by dedicated Ride Leaders from the community.

Launched last November, the Bike Bus offers a safe, fun and confident way to travel actively to school and there are now plans to invite families from St Ann’s RC Primary School in Stretford to join too!
