Is that time if year when our beekeepers are doing their spring cleaning by changing their hives into clean ones and scraping and storing their old ones ready for increasing the hive sizes through the season! Trying to stop these colonies are from swarming is a task and a half!

First hive inspections of the season and it's a mixed bag! Hive 1 - green queen, low on food and slow build up with signs of dysentery on the front of the hive while hive 2 - blue queen is increasing like there is no tomorrow with play cups ready to make a new queen and swarm! Samples have been taken for microscopy to identify if the dysentery is nosema. A quick treatment of nozevits+ with feed for hive one to be added later today!
