This will be a chance to find out more about the Youth Club, hear about what we have planned for the year ahead, and how to register your children.

You've heard about Francis Hutcheson... now it's time to discover the man behind the ideas.

Over the past three weeks, we've explored democracy, life in Colonial America and life in eighteenth-century County Down. This Saturday, we conclude our fascinating series by focusing on the remarkable individual who inspired it all.

Join acclaimed historian and author Philip Orr for:

Francis Hutcheson – Life and Legacy

Born near Saintfield in 1694, Francis Hutcheson became one of the most influential philosophers of the Enlightenment. His ideas on liberty, equality, human rights and the relationship between government and the people travelled across the Atlantic and helped shape the thinking of America's Founding Fathers.

Yet, despite his international influence, his story remains little known here at home.

This is your opportunity to discover why a philosopher from the Saintfield area is regarded as one of the great intellectual influences on the birth of modern democracy.
