Seaview Project Seaview offers services for the most marginalised and vulnerable people in Hastings & St Leonards SEAVIEW IS A WELLBEING CENTRE. Physical activities.

OUR AIMS ARE:

To provide an open access Day Centre where people can find help, comfort, friendship and inspiration. To help people access and maintain decent and affordable accommodation. To enable people to achieve self-dependence. To encourage, and provide opportunities for people to realise their full potential. SEAVIEW IS COMMITTED TO DELIVERING EXCELLENT SERVICES. WE PROVIDE:

A warm and welcoming building with food, clothes and washing facilities available. Housing related support and advice. Personal Development and group activities on a large range of subjects. Help with life and basic Skills. Street outreach service for rough sleepers. Nurse and Podiatrist through St John's Ambulance to meet primary health care needs.

Seaview warmly invites you to our Carol Concert on Saturday 5th December at 5pm in the wonderful St John the Evangelist church.

Our yearly concert is a fantastic event to see some amazing performances, including Liane Carroll, Soundwaves Community Choir, Sister Suzie, Father David, and headlining will be the Seaview Choir with Barefoot Opera.

It's also a lovely chance to come together as a community, hear powerful stories about Seaview, and join together in festive song!

Thank you to everyone who supported Seaview’s Help Make a House a Home campaign.

To all the individuals, local businesses and community groups who donated, organised fundraising events, gave their time or provided goods and services in kind – thank you. Every contribution has helped bring us closer to our goal and most importantly, helped us create a safe and secure home for local people moving away from rough sleeping and homelessness.

The campaign is now closed, and we’re incredibly grateful for the generosity and community spirit that has made this project possible.

We’re now entering an exciting new chapter; the house is nearing completion, and we look forward to opening its doors very soon.

Everyone who has supported the campaign will be invited to an Open Day at the house before the residents move in. This will be an opportunity to see what you have helped create and celebrate this incredible community achievement together.

Nick Perry has been volunteering at Seaview since 2021, doing incredible work with our Service Users and helping provide Solution Focused conversations to support their mental health.

Our Service Users and Nick have learnt lots from this experience, and its helped Nick to write a new book! He came in to present the book last week to our Chief Officer Dave.

have been helping us get our Highbanks house ready this week! Katie took a Community Staff Day to do a mammoth amount of digging, weeding, clipping and trimming to really sharpen the look of the house!

We would like to warmly invite our community to attend our Annual General Meeting!

It will take place on Wednesday 18th November 2026 at 15:00 in our wonderful Wellbeing Centre (Southwater Centre, Hatherley Road, TN37 6LB)

This is a great opportunity to hear about all the amazing projects we've worked on in the year, learn from our staff and trustees, and also listen to our Guest Speaker, Eve McCallam, Programme Lead for Partnerships at Housing Justice.

Eve works with faith and community organisations across England to strengthen local responses to homelessness and has supported Seaview a lot this year.

Eve has worked in the homelessness sector for several years, with a particular focus on community-led responses, partnership working and supporting organisations to develop effective and sustainable services. At Housing Justice, she works closely with grassroots organisations, local authorities and national partners, helping to connect learning and experience from communities with wider work to improve responses to homelessness.

Making Hastings Fairer: Hastings Anti-Poverty Action Plan Event

On Friday 9th October from 9am to 4pm, the Hastings Community Executive Network (HCEN) are hosting an event for people who are actively engaged in working with and for people in Hastings who want to:

- Have important conversations
- Try new ways of working
- Make a positive difference to people living in poverty in Hastings

The aim is to rise to the challenge of poverty in Hastings together to address crisis, build resilience and create opportunities.

Keynote Speaker: Darrell Gale, Director of Public Health, East Sussex County Council.

Want to be there when we open the door for the very first time?

We’re preparing to celebrate the official launch of Seaview’s new house, a safe and secure place for local people moving away from life on the streets.

The launch will bring together the individuals, businesses, grant making trusts and community groups who helped make this possible. It will be a chance to see the completed house, meet the people behind the project and celebrate what our community has achieved together.

Invitations are reserved for those who donate before 1st October.

Donate to support the final stages of the house and you’ll receive an invitation to join us. Please make sure you include your email address so we can forward your invitation.

Well what a show yesterday, the Seaview band The Troubadours and the Seaview Choir ‘Shared Voices’ did Seaview proud by performing at the conference in the Abbey Centre, Central London.

Inspirational numbers such as David Bowie's 'Heroes' were performed and the set was closed with the full ensemble taking to the stage to sing the moving Bob Dylan song 'I shall be released'.

Thank you CRP for supporting the trip and for keeping us company throughout!

The trip and performance will be lodged in our memories for some time to come.
