SVP St Helens The St Vincent de Paul Society (England & Wales) is part voluntary network dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms.

Covering St Julie and St Teresa's, St Patrick’s, Our Lady’s and St Austin’s SVP Groups, St Helens.

As we prepare for Lent and gather to share pancakes, we are reminded of Christ’s call to love our neighbour and care for those in need.

At the SVP, we try to live out this calling through friendship and compassion.

This Shrove Tuesday, as we enjoy what we have, let us also look beyond ourselves and offer time, kindness and prayer for those who may be struggling or alone.

✨ Today we celebrate the Feast of St Vincent de Paul, our patron and inspiration ✨

St Vincent dedicated his life to serving those most in need, reminding us that “Charity is infinitely inventive.”

His vision of practical love in action continues to guide the SVP today.

On this special day, we give thanks for our members, volunteers and supporters who carry forward St Vincent’s mission of compassion, dignity, and hope 💙

🙏 Join us in praying for all who work to bring love, friendship, and practical support to people experiencing poverty, loneliness, and hardship.
