Andrea graduated in 2009 with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science Degree. Tours
Aquila Ecology offers guided walks and tours, tailored to clients' needs, throughout the Perthshire area but with particular focus on the area surrounding St Fillans where the company is based. Through completing surveys throughout the area for breeding raptors for the past five years, Aquila Ecology is best equipped to provide knowledgeable and enjoyable tours and walks around the area. The area offers plenty in wildlife terms including: golden eagles, buzzards, red kites, short-eared owls, tawny owls, red squirrels, red deer, feral goats, otters, beavers, kingfishers, dippers, pine marten, bats and slow worms to name but a few. Training
Aquila Ecology primarily aims to deliver training in ecological survey skills to under- and new-graduates looking to gain some practical experience in ecological surveys to enhance their employability. Training can also be delivered to those considering a career change or who would like to take part in more practical voluntary surveys. Generally, training is delivered in small groups with basic accommodation and food included to keep the costs down. Subjects covered will include (but are not restricted to) habitat surveys, riparian mammal surveys, bat roost surveys, bird surveys and ecological report writing. Surveys
With a wealth of combined experience in completing survey work for a number of species and habitats with a number of different organisations, Aquila Ecology offers a panacea for all types of ecological survey and consultancy. We can provide a professional service to individual home owners to large developers or consultancies including an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) service. All work is based on a fixed day rate plus any out of pocket expenses and all work is completed to agreed timescales.

During this heat, amphibians and reptiles like to hide somewhere cool. We created these refuges years ago and the slow worms moved straight in!

Toads are now taking advantage and mice and voles have been known to join, too.

We've also put bowls of water out for other wildlife to drink or have a cold bath.

We need to take care of the critters as well as ourselves in this hot weather.

The bat carers of Scotland would be very grateful if you could spare a few pennies towards this much needed resource for rehabbing bats at Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue.

Many of the bats that we care for over the summer get taken to Hessilhead when their recovery is going to take them into autumn/winter when they would normally go into hibernation.

A flight cage means they can get the exercise they need as well as being able to try out flying again in a safe environment following injury.

Please help if you can πŸ™

The three amigos!

These two slow worms and toad have been nestling together in our grass heap for a couple of weeks now. I think it's adorable seeing amphibians and reptiles snuggling up together
