Sat 3rd Oct - A Murmuration of Marks
An evolving collaborative artwork exploring flight through abstract black-and-white mark-making.
Join us throughout the day to create one large, shared collaborative artwork.
Working together on a large canvas, we will explore flight through abstract mark-making, using only black and white. There is no finished image or right way to do it. Instead, each person will respond to the marks already made and their sense of flight and what that means or how that feels to them, adding their own lines, shapes, movement and energy.
Watch the artwork change as different people contribute to it throughout the day, creating something that is from the collective mind.
Open to all ages and abilities. Come and make a mark, stay for a while, or simply join in when you feel inspired.
Sunday 4th Oct – If You Had Wings...
A second large collaborative canvas, exploring the question:
"If you had wings, what would they look like?"
What would your wings be? Huge or tiny? Feathered, colourful, strange, delicate, mechanical, imaginary... or something that has never existed before?
Using mixed media, you can create and add your own interpretation of wings to the shared artwork. There is no need to be able to draw — this is about imagination, exploration and seeing where the materials take you.
Come and add your wings to the picture, and see what happens when everyone's ideas take flight.
Open to all ages and abilities.
