The House YPC

The House YPC A dynamic, stimulating and creative space dedicated to young people.

http://ypc-thebigmusicproject.simplesite.com/ It is free to join.

The House welcomes 13 – 19 year olds as a safe, nurturing place to meet, enjoy, participate and achieve. Qualified Youth Workers run a variety of sessions here. We offer innovative ways for young people to achieve useful certificates and accreditations outside education. Be it through volunteering, taking part in activities or bringing their own creative projects to life. We can support young peop

le to explore their worth and abilities. There is a strong culture of creativity at The House. We have a free rehearsal space for young bands, a wide range of musical equipment and a large hall and PA system for hosting our own events. Painting, crafts, sculpture, film and photography are just some of the other expressive activities on offer. We have a fantastic kitchen and café area where young people can learn to cook, share meals and contribute to running costs by supporting a Tuc-shop. We encourage Young People to care about and play an active role in the local community. By volunteering or performing at community events, we work together to present a positive image of young people. Youth workers are experienced and trained to offer information, advice and guidance about the widest range of issues relevant to young people. We have a vast network of partners who can assist in more complex situations and we know how and when to refer young people. At The house we aim to safeguard every aspect of Young people’s well-being. As well as our own 4 weekly sessions, other Young People’s agencies run specific groups at The House, making it the hub for Youth Work in St. Austell.
