12 lovely people turned out to our St Austell Tidy team litter pick this weekend. We collected 14 bags of litter and quite a few hub caps! It’s an off road parking area for people to access some lovely walks. Unfortunately it’s also close to town so gets used as a parking spot to eat takeaways and throw the packaging out of the window. Grrrrr! Makes my blood boil as there are litter bins all around it! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😩🥴

I’ve been a bit quiet for the past few days as I’ve been on a mission! I’ve sold my motorhome and downsized to a campervan. I’ve been looking for a while but at last she appeared. I had to drive to Chichester to do the swap so it’s been a bit time consuming! My dear Aunt Muriel left me a small gift in her will so hence the name as that gift helped buy the first one. I’ve had so many wonderful adventures with my grandchildren in these vans and now for more with Stan in tow. It’s really refreshing to be here on the Scillies for - I have walked all around St Martins and found zero litter. So refreshing! There are very few people living here, invaded by boatloads from other island for a few hours, then peace resumes. Most visitors are pretty eco aware as they are interested mostly in birdwatching, wildlife or scenic walks. So refreshing ☺️😉👌✅

Still doing it on Scilly! I’ve been amazed to see very little beach plastic so far but today I found quite a lot on Porthloo beach - probably due to tidal flow. Mostly picked up bits of rope, string and fisherman’s kisses - basically fishing litter, not surprising as it’s the main business here after tourism!!’

Not the usual view of this pretty island. It’s had an interesting history being a guardian of our shores! This is King Charles1 ancient fort with Cromwell’s alongside it. It was a misty murky day and we almost got lost in the fog 😶‍🌫️ Nothing that a pint in the New Inn couldn’t rectify!
