The dust has settled on the St Austell St Piran's day event 2026. What can I say; absolutely outstanding turnout for the event. 🙂👏
I have a long list of thank you's.
Firstly I'd like to thank White River Place and St Austell Town (St Austell BID) for their continued help and support. Without whom I would not be able to put the event on.
I would like to thank the 2 local Cllrs who partly funded the event, Cllr Paul Ashton and Cllr Jack Yelland.
I would also like to thank Michael Bunney for organising the procession and for his very generous donation from his Kernewek lessons which partially funded the event.
I would like to thank St Austell Town Council for partially funding the event from their small grants scheme and for their continued support.
I would like to thank Garry Tregidga for organising a brilliant Kevrennow festival. The White Hart was packed all day which was fantastic to see.
I would like to thank all the speakers Noah Law for St Austell & Newquay, Mayor Colin hamilton, Deputy mayor Cllr Ethan Stephens, Cllr Paul Ashton and Cllr Jack Yelland for saying a few words and for taking part in the procession. It was also nice to see a few St Austell Town Cllrs supporting the event.
I would like to thank the St Austell Market House for hosting a craft fair and for supporting the St Piran's day event.
I would like to thank all the musicians who played at the event Kescana, Bagas Crowd, The Drecklys, Richard Trethewey and Molly Biscoe. I would also like to thank Kenny Barnes who volunteered to sound tech all day.
I would like to thank all the local Old Cornwall Societies for bringing your banners and for supporting the event.
I would like to thank all the organisations that had pitches which hopefully supported them to raise their profiles in the town Cornwall Wildlife Trust, A Band of Brothers Cornwall and Cornwall Hospice.
I would like to thank all the craft fair traders for bringing your wonderful makes in to St Austell.
Last but definitely by no means least, I want to thank the people of St Austell and surrounding areas for turning out and supporting the St Austell St Piran's day event. Numbers are increasing year on year and it makes organising the event worthwhile when I see the amount of people that attend and the smiles on your faces. For those of you that dressed up in nationalist tartan, you looked fabulous.
That's it from me, see you next year for the St Austell St Piran's day event 2027. 🙂 ==
