A huge thank you to Jane, Craig, and everyone at The Swan Pub in Rhyl for hosting a fantastic fundraising day in support of our hospice. ❀️

Located next to our Rhyl Preloved Shop, The Swan teamed up with our retail team to bring the community together for a day full of fun and fundraising. From tombolas, auctions, bingo, and raffles, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

It was wonderful to see our local community coming together and local businesses supporting us.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, an amazing Β£1,001.36 was raised for our hospice.

Rhyl Shop Manager Jo and her team, joined by Sharon, Volunteer Coordinator, and Dan, Retail Manager, met with Jane at our Rhyl shop to receive the cheque and thank them for their generosity.

Thank you to everyone at The Swan Pub and everyone who supported the event. Your kindness will make a real difference to the patients and families we care for every day. πŸ’™

🌟 We love our hospice team, so we thought we’d introduce them to you πŸ’™

We’re shining a light on the incredible people who make St Kentigern Hospice so special. There are so many different roles that go into making our hospice such a wonderful place, and we couldn’t provide the care we do without every single one of them.

This week, we're celebrating Mandy, our Head of Income Generation and Marketing, who joined St Kentigern Hospice in October 2023.

Since joining the hospice, Mandy has played a key role in leading and delivering our Income Generation Strategy, helping to secure the vital funds needed to ensure we can continue providing free specialist palliative and end-of-life care for our community.

During a challenging time for hospice care, Mandy has guided her team through a period of growth and development, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity. Her leadership has helped bring a range of exciting new initiatives to life across all areas of Income Generation and Marketing, strengthening support for the hospice and the patients and families we serve.

Mandy said: "My favourite quote is, 'Life is like a marmalade sandwich; you only get out what you put in.' The quote is from Paddington Bear, but it rings true in many aspects of life. The hospice's success depends on the hard work we all put in."

We love seeing all our Hospice Champions send in their fantastic photos of their incredible achievements, so we thought we'd share them with you! πŸ’™

Pictured are the incredible "Refined Rebels" Annie, Nicky, Jemma and Dawn, who took on the Great Manchester Run, joined by one of our very own fundraisers, Rhian.

Also featured is Natalie Ratchford, who has completed the Chester Half Marathon. But Natalie isn't stopping there! After completing a 10K, Natalie went on to conquer a half marathon and a full marathon, and is now planning to take on an ultra marathon, all in aid of St Kentigern Hospice.

Feeling inspired? You can become a Hospice Champion too! Contact Rhian today, who will guide and support you every step of the way.

Thank you to all our incredible supporters, and to everyone who has sponsored and supported them along the way. Your generosity and encouragement help us continue providing vital palliative care to those who need it most. πŸ’™

As Volunteers' Week comes to a close, Dan, our Retail Area Manager, alongside Sharon, our Volunteer Coordinator, spent time visiting our shops to deliver certificates, flowers, and cakes to our amazing volunteers. πŸŒΈπŸŽ‚πŸ’

Our retail teams work incredibly hard to keep our shops open, welcoming, and looking fabulous, so it was wonderful to have the opportunity to celebrate and thank them for everything they do.

To every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and passion to support our cause – Thank You. You make a real difference every day. ❀️

Got questions about volunteering? We'd love to chat!

Be part of something special and make a difference in your community. Your time makes a difference.

As part of Volunteers' Week, we took a special trip down memory lane with Sue and Joyce, who have been part of St Kentigern Hospice since the very beginning. πŸ’™

Together, we explored the archives, shared memories, and reflected on the incredible journey of the hospice over the years. Their stories, dedication, and passion are a testament to the lasting impact volunteers have on our hospice community.

Thank you, Sue and Joyce, for helping us preserve and celebrate the history of St Kentigern Hospice. 🌟

For Volunteers' Week, we'd like you to meet two of our youngest volunteers, Ezra and Thora! πŸ’™

Our newest office recruits recently spent the afternoon helping our marketing and fundraising teams create a special video to promote some of our upcoming events.

They were a joy to have around.

When asked about their favourite part of the day, Ezra and Thora were quick to agree...β€˜the orange juice and custard creams’ from Caffi Cariad! 🍊πŸͺ

Their visit is proof that you're never too young (or too old) to make a difference. There are so many ways to support our hospice, and every contribution, big or small, helps us continue caring for those who need us most.

A huge thank you to Ezra and Thora for lending us their time and talents. 🌟

And keep your eyes peeled for their social media debut next week... because they have something VERY exciting they can't wait to share with you! πŸ‘€βœ¨
