Earlier this year, we were delighted to share the news that one of our trustees, Tricia Bochenski, had been awarded an MBE for services to people with disabilities.

We are now thrilled to congratulate Tricia on officially receiving her award from Prince William at Windsor Castle and share photos of this very special occasion.

Tricia has been a trustee of Cartref Ni for more than 25 years and served as Chair from 2003 until 2024. Her commitment to championing the rights of disabled people stretches back to 1979, and her impact has been felt by countless individuals and families.

Congratulations once again, Tricia. Everyone at Cartref Ni is very proud of you in gaining this prestigious honour.

Meet Claire! 🙋‍♀️ Assistant Manager at Cartref Ni

Claire has worked for Cartref Ni since 2017, starting her career as a support worker and progressing to the management team in 2024.

Claire has vast experience in supporting individuals with varied abilities. She works across Conwy, Denbighshire and Flintshire empowering staff teams to make a positive difference to the lives of the people we support.

Claire is both personally and professionally passionate about her role at Cartref Ni.

She says “Since first joining Cartref Ni in 2017 I knew I had found my vocation. I am proud and passionate about my job and believe in what we do. My role as Assistant Manager allows me to be actively involved in the lives of the people we support and the staff teams. I love my job and feel very lucky to be part of their lives! For anyone considering a career in social care, do it…. It is such a rewarding role!”

A wonderful day of adventure at the Blue Planet Aquarium! 🌊🦈🪼

One of the people we support enjoyed a tranquil day out with her Support Worker, exploring the underwater shark tunnel and getting up close to fascinating sea creatures.

The trip was filled with smiles and excitement, followed by a lovely lunch together.💙
