In Memory of Pete Dashwood-Connelly

We had some incredibly sad news recently - friend of The Pioneer and legendary skater Pete Dashwood-Connelly lost his battle with cancer.

Pete wasn’t just a local skater, he was a Guinness World Record holder, the fastest downhill skater in the world, and an inspiration to so many. But beyond the records, he was about community, connection, and the joy of skating.

His wife Zoe has set up a fundraiser in his memory - a fundraiser to help push us closer to our goal of building a new outdoor skatepark at The Pioneer. A place for the next generation to fall, get back up, push boundaries, and find their crew.

The outpouring of love since his passing has been huge, and thanks to the generosity of Pete’s friends and family, we’re now closer than ever to making this dream park a reality. So far £17,001 has been donated in Pete’s memory - but we still need your help.

👉 If Pete’s story moved you...👉 If The Pioneer has ever meant something to you...👉 If you believe in the power of skateboarding to change lives...

Please donate

Every single pound helps us get closer.

Let’s build this together.

The increase in temperature is lovely for walking outside, but not so good for skateparks !
In line with lots of other parks we have sadly had to close our doors today to allow the park to dry out and make it safe for you all to use tomorrow onwards....
