Ten young adults from The Alban Way recently returned from a pilgrimage to Durham and Lindisfarne, where they explored the stories of the northern saints and spent time together in prayer, worship and reflection.

Pupils and staff from Church schools across the Diocese came together at St Albans Cathedral last week for three Harvest Festival services held over two days.

Led by Bishop Jane and featuring contributions from pupils across a number of schools, the services celebrated the harvest season and encouraged those present to reflect on gratitude, generosity and God's provision.

Congratulations to St. Andrew & St. George, Stevenage, on securing £882,255 from the government's Places of Worship Renewal Fund.

The grant will support urgent roof repairs and help secure the future of this Grade II listed church, enabling it to continue serving the community through worship, welcome and practical support for generations to come.

The Revd Karen Mitchell, Rector of St Andrew & St George said: "We are absolutely delighted and immensely grateful to have received this substantial grant from the Places of Worship Renewal Fund. This award is a tremendous encouragement to our congregation and to everyone who values St Andrew & St George’s as a place of worship, community and welcome."

🎉 Great news for two churches in our diocese.

St Mary's, Baldock and All Saints, Great Barford have been removed from Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register after years of fundraising, restoration and repair work.

Their achievement is a testament to the dedication of congregations, volunteers and supporters, and offers encouragement to other churches working to secure the future of their historic buildings.
