What an incredible night! An amazing turnout for our first ever Jazz night with the amazing talent that is Anjali Perin.

The room was packed and the vibe was amazing. Huge thanks to Anj for organising this and bringing together some amazing talent in the form of the band, it was truly an incredible night.

We'll be back for another Jazz night at the end of January so don't worry too much if you missed this one.

📮We’ve got some exciting news to share📮

The Pioneer Club is one of the two charities supported by St Albans Postboxes this Christmas, and bookings to sponsor a topper are now open!

Each year, volunteer makers transform postboxes across St Albans, Harpenden and the surrounding villages into colourful works of art. They bring people together, make us smile and raise money for local charities.

This year, the donations will support The Pioneer Club and Herts Inclusive Theatre.

So if you’re a business, a neighbourhood group, a pub, anyone who just wants to spread some joy get involved and sponsor a topper today and make the 2026 trail the best, biggest and most festive one yet.

Click the link in our bio to donate or sponsor a topper and help bring a bit of woolly joy to our community this Christmas.

❓Did You Know❓

As a youth charity we're all about young people as you'd expect, BUT did you know that all the above events are all ages events?

There's a few mitigations in place as you'd expect, but with prices for these gigs starting at just £6 it's a great opportunity to give the next generation (or the one after that!) an opportunity to enjoy a gig in their local grassroots music venue!

So head over to our website and bring your young person along to a gig and show them how cool you are!

Another busy weekend, and another variety of events at Pioneer!

Saturday night we hosted a joint 18th & 50th with bands on the main stage and karaoke in the bar 🎂

Then Sunday we hosted The Big Beat Drum Meet 2 an impressive day which saw attendees get hands on lessons and support from some of the best drummers out there 🥁

Thank you to everyone who came through Pioneer this weekend, we loved hosting you all ❤️

Why events at Pioneer matter...

Many of you already know Pioneer as an amazing music venue, but we're also a youth charity.

Every pound spent with us whether through buying a ticket, hiring the venue, or enjoying a drink at the bar helps support our work with young people. Because all of our profits are reinvested back into the charity, your support directly helps these programmes not only continue, but grow.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to spend their time and money with us. Thanks to you, we're able to provide opportunities, support, and safe spaces for young people in our community.

Pictured are just a few of the ways your support makes a difference. These include Step Forward, our free weekly drop-in for children experiencing EBSNA and their parents, which we run alongside local family support organisation Vista, as well as our free monthly Under-18s Open Mic. Not pictured are our free Dungeons & Dragons group and Youth Group, which continue to bring young people together through creativity, friendship, and fun.

We have even more exciting plans for the young people of St Albans, but none of it would be possible without you. By attending events, buying tickets, hiring our spaces, or simply popping in for a drink, you're helping us create opportunities and make a lasting difference in young people's lives.

So, from all of us at Pioneer, thank you. Your support means more than you know, and we're truly grateful to have you as part of our community. ❤️
