Toilet Training and Hand Washing 🧼

Toilet training can be a challenge, but always aim to make it a positive experience. Children are ready to learn new skills with our help, and practice makes perfect ✅

Think about toilet training the same way we support children to develop other skills, such as brushing their teeth or using a spoon. Start teaching your child to use a potty before they stop using nappies to give them time to practice.

Here are some tips 💡:

📚 Read books together with your child, such as "Pirate Pete’s Potty", "Princess Polly’s Potty", and "Everyone Poops".
🫧 Let your child blow bubbles while on the potty to help relax their muscles.
🎶 Encourage hand washing every time with fun songs or apps.

Loving Learning 💛

There are lots of activities you can do every day with your child to help them love learning. Summer is a great time to talk to your child and develop their speech and other skills.

Here are some more tips 💡:

🚶‍♀️ Talk about sounds, colours, and cars while on walks. Encourage your child to join in.
📖 Read books outside and consider joining the local library.
🍎 Count apples or carrots at the shop and let your child help put them away at home.
💧 Use water play to explore concepts like "more" and "less" with simple containers.

Praise your child with clapping, smiling, and laughing to make learning positive and fun! 🎉

Healthy teeth are so important to your little ones over-all health🦷
Here are some top tips on looking after your little ones teeth:

🌟Start brushing your baby's teeth as soon as the first milk tooth breaks through (usually at around 6 months, but it can be earlier or later).
🌟Parents or carers should brush or supervise tooth brushing.
🌟Brush teeth twice daily for about 2 minutes with fluoride toothpaste.
🌟Brush last thing at night before bed and on 1 other occasion.
🌟Use only a smear of toothpaste.

If you need any help or advice around your child’s oral health, please call the team on 0300 1237572

Stopping smoking does wonders for your health & your pocket!🚭

Once you stop smoking your body starts to feel the benefits, after just 48 hours of being cigarette free your lungs will start clearing out mucus, and your sense of taste and smell will start improving.

Saving Money:
The average smoker has 13 ci******es a day, which works out as 364 ci******es a month. That's £141 a month and £1,696 a year that you could be saving by not smoking. If you're looking to quit this year there's lots of support available for you:
