We had a very enjoyable reading on Saturday afternoon in St Albans Library and on Zoom to launch "A Staircase in Mid-Air", the anthology we've published to mark 60 years of Ver Poets.

Twenty-one members read poems in the Library and a further four on Zoom. We were particularly pleased that four of the ten Open Competition judges who contributed poems were able to read with us—Julia Webb, Rory Waterman and Adrian Buckner on Zoom, and Merryn Williams, who is also a member, in the Library.

Our President, John Mole, opened the reading with his witty, list poem, "Texts". He's pictured here, cutting the anniversary cake.
The event was well attended and ran smoothly, despite the technical challenges.

You can buy copies of the anthology from the Publications page on our website (link in the comment below).
