🧡 Help Us Support Our Community 🧡

Cottonmill Community and Cycle Centre are proud to be working with St Albans Action for Homeless to support people in need across our community.

Not everyone experiencing homelessness has access to a shelter or hostel, which makes these essential items even more important 🧡

They are putting together care packs and would love your support 🙌
🧴 Essential items needed:
• Body wash
• Deodorant
• Toothbrushes
• Toothpaste
• Wet wipes

🧡 If you’re able to give a little extra, we’d also really appreciate:

The Vanman 🚐

My is James. My usual removal guy is really busy so I messaged him and he came to our rescue.
Awful day to move furniture and white goods from several different locations but he did it without complaint.

No lift, four flights of stairs later and still no grumbles.

And he only wanted petrol money so kudos to this guy.

He's made our guys flat a home 🏡

So give him a call, no job too small he said!!

National Volunteers Week
With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering can be enormous. Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer. The right match can help you to find friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career.

🧡

Giving to others can also help protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose. While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day. Giving in even simple ways can help those in need and improve your health and happiness.

🧡

We are so thankful to ALL our volunteers, from our cooking team right through to our food run volunteers and fundraisers. We appreciate YOU and so do our street friends.

Another shout out to Ursula Harvey who does our bookkeeping for free and is a marshal for our food runs.

🧡

We are so grateful that Magenta Storage St Albans provides us with a *FREE* storage space so that we can store household items for our friends moving on to their first home or tents, clothes, toiletries etc for our street friends that we can hand out whenever needed.
