πŸ’™ BEHIND EVERY GREAT CARNIVAL IS AN INCREDIBLE TEAM πŸ’™

When the last float has passed, the music has stopped and the streets have emptied, it's easy to remember the spectacular costumes, colourful floats and smiling faces.

But behind every successful St Agnes Carnival is an amazing team of people working tirelessly behind the scenes.

For months before Carnival Day, our committee and volunteers are busy planning routes, organising entries, arranging licences, coordinating with emergency services, fundraising, meeting with local businesses, recruiting volunteers and dealing with countless jobs that most people never get to see.

Then, on the day itself, our Carnival Marshals, road closure teams, collection bucket volunteers, setup and clear-up crews, committee members and countless helpers work throughout the day to keep everything running safely, smoothly and on time.

Many of them don't get to watch the procession. Instead, they're busy making sure everyone else can enjoy it.

To every single person who gave up their time, worked behind the scenes, solved problems, carried barriers, answered questions, kept people safe and helped the day run seamlessly...

❀️ THANK YOU.

Your dedication, commitment and community spirit are what keep St Agnes Carnival alive. We simply couldn't do it without you.

If you'd like to join our committee or volunteer on the day, please. send us a message or drop as an email. We'd love to welcome you to the team!

🚜✨ SAVING THE BIGGEST FOR LAST! ✨🚜

As we wrap up our look back at this year's St Agnes Carnival, we couldn't finish without celebrating some of the spectacular large floats that wowed the crowds from start to finish.

Where else could you see...

✈️ An incredible **Top Gun aircraft carrier**, complete with incredible soundtrack and dancing fighter planes!

🀠 The **entire cast of Toy Story**, bringing Woody, Buzz and friends to life in a float packed with colour, creativity and fun.

🧡 The breathtaking **Bayeux Tapestry Comes Alive**, an ambitious masterpiece that deservedly took home the title of **Best in Carnival**.

These floats didn't appear overnight. They were the result of months of planning, designing, building, painting and teamwork. The time, effort and imagination that go into creating these incredible entries is simply remarkable, and we're so grateful to everyone who helped bring them to life.

Thank you to every float builder, participant and volunteer who made this year's carnival such an unforgettable celebration of creativity and community spirit.

And now… we're already looking forward to next year! πŸŽπŸ’™

🎭🚜 THE FLOATS – THE HEART OF ST AGNES CARNIVAL! 🚜🎭

Every year, we're amazed by the imagination, creativity and sheer hard work that go into the carnival floats – and this year certainly didn't disappoint!

From big builds to smaller creations, each float told its own story and brought something unique to the procession.

Where else could you see...
🎣 A traditional fishing boat sailing through the streets?
πŸš— The Weasleys' flying car making a magical appearance?
πŸ’’ A charming wedding chapel on wheels?
πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· A lively Greek taverna full of music and fun?
🦁 A wild animal cage packed with larger-than-life characters?

And that's only a handful of the incredible entries that made this year's carnival so unforgettable.

The inventiveness of our entrants is truly unsurpassed. Behind every float are weeksβ€”often monthsβ€”of planning, designing, building, painting and problem-solving, all carried out by volunteers who give their time to create something special for our community.

To every individual, family, school, club and organisation who built a float this year... thank you. Your creativity is what makes St Agnes Carnival such a spectacular event, and we're incredibly grateful for the time, effort and passion you've put into bringing your ideas to life.

A carnival isn't just about what you see... it's about what you hear too! 🎭🎺πŸ₯

From the stirring sound of the pipes and drums accompanying Bolster the Giant, to the fantastic bands that kept the procession moving, and the infectious rhythms of the Sunny Spice Drummers, the music brought energy, excitement and atmosphere to every corner of the route.

πŸš‚ A REAL CROWD PLEASER! πŸš‚

One of the highlights of our brand-new **Family Zone** this year had to be the magnificent steam engine.

Standing proudly on Trevaunance Road, it drew admiring crowds throughout the evening, with children (and plenty of adults!) stopping to take a closer look at this impressive piece of engineering.

And then there was **that whistle!** πŸ“£

If you were lucky enough to be nearby when it sounded, you'll know exactly what we mean. The unmistakable blast of the steam whistle turned heads, brought smiles to faces and added another wonderful touch to the carnival atmosphere.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing the steam engine along and helping make our first Family Zone such a fantastic success.

πŸ“Έ Did you get a chance to see it?

🎺 Even better… did you hear its wonderful whistle?

Share your photos and tell us your favourite memory from the Family Zone in the comments below! πŸ’™

🎭 BEFORE THE PARADE BEGINS... THE MAGIC STARTS HERE! 🎭

Before the first float rolls onto the streets of St Agnes, there's a special moment that many people never get to see.

Behind the scenes, the Carnival Field comes alive as all of the groups and individual entrants gather together. It's the first chance to catch a glimpse of everyone else's incredible creations – and every year there are plenty of surprised faces and lots of "wows!" as the hard work is finally revealed.

There's a real buzz in the air as final touches are added to costumes, make-up is perfected, props are checked, and those last-minute dance routines and performances get one final rehearsal.

You can feel the excitement building. The nerves that have been there for weeks slowly give way to laughter, celebration and anticipation as everyone gets ready to step out in front of thousands of spectators.

It's one of our favourite parts of Carnival Day – a wonderful reminder that while everyone is competing for prizes, they're also coming together to celebrate our amazing community.

🚢✨ WALKING ENTRIES – BIG, SMALL AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN! ✨🚢

One of the things we love most about St Agnes Carnival is that you don't need a float to make a huge impression!

This year's walking entries were nothing short of fantastic. From solo performers to large groups, from colourful pushchairs to towering stilt walkers, every single entry brought something unique to the procession.

The creativity on display was incredible, with fabulous costumes, brilliant attention to detail and some wonderfully choreographed routines that had the crowds smiling, clapping and dancing along.

Whether you spent months planning your costumes or simply wanted to get involved and join the fun, thank you for making the carnival so vibrant and entertaining. Your enthusiasm and imagination are what make St Agnes Carnival so special.

πŸ“Έ Can you spot yourself or someone you know in these photos?

Tag your friends, share your favourite walking entry, and let's celebrate everyone who stepped out and helped make this year's carnival one to remember! πŸ’™πŸŽ

πŸŽ‰ CARNIVAL WOULDN’T BE CARNIVAL WITHOUT YOU! πŸŽ‰

The floats, costumes and music may make their way through the streets, but it’s the thousands of spectators lining the route who create that incredible St Agnes Carnival atmosphere. πŸ’™

The cheering, clapping, waving, laughing and dancing from the crowds make all those months of preparation worthwhile. Seeing the streets absolutely packed with people of all ages coming together is one of our favourite parts of Carnival Day.

πŸ“Έ Now for the important question…

CAN YOU SPOT YOUR FACE IN THESE PICTURES? πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚

Have a good look through, zoom in and see who you recognise!

πŸ‘‰ Spot yourself? Give us a wave in the comments!
πŸ‘‰ Spot a friend? TAG THEM!

Thank you to every single person who came out to watch, cheer and support St Agnes Carnival. You’re not just watching the carnival – you’re a huge part of what makes it so special. πŸŽπŸŽ‰πŸ’™
