It's our Women's Trail Day celebration on Monday, and we're really looking forward to seeing you all. Here are a few answers to some of the questions you've been asking...
Do I have to book and what does it cost?
The event is free and you don't need to book ahead, but we will have a sign-in on the day. We will also have some refreshments and will be collecting donations for Outsider (our outdoor-active community group).
Do I need to bring anything?
We'd recommend some trail or hybrid shoes, and a coat if it's wet. We'll have water, but do bring a drink if you like.
Will this go ahead if it's raining?
Yes, trail running is fun in all weathers and we'll be out a maximum of an hour. If the weather is dangerous however (strong winds or thunderstorms), we will cancel.
Do I need to be good at running?
We want to welcome anyone who would like to have a go at trail running, so complete newbies are welcome, along with experienced runners. We'd recommend you can run/walk a 5k/parkrun, but we'd welcome keen hikers wanting to give running a go too.
Are there age restrictions?
Kids are very welcome if they can run/walk a 5k distance.
How far will we be going?
Around 3-4 miles, you can run a bit less or a bit more, depending on enthusiasm.
What sort of things will we be doing?
It will be a mix of group running, some technique building and coaching, and some general chat. There will be opportunities to run a bit more or a bit less depending on fitness levels.
If you have any more questions do get in touch... And see you there!
