Uttlesford District Council has relaunched its popular Pedal Perks scheme – encouraging residents and visitors to explore Saffron Walden and the surrounding area by bike.
Designed to support the local economy, Pedal Perks aims to increase footfall while showcasing the area’s thriving visitor economy and encouraging sustainable travel. The revamped scheme, under the council’s Discover Uttlesford brand, offers cyclists a range of exclusive discounts and complimentary treats at participating attractions, cafés, restaurants and independent retailers.
To take advantage of these offers, visitors simply need to arrive by bike and mention Pedal Perks when making a purchase.
Cllr Neil Hargreaves, Portfolio Holder for Finance, said: “There are so many well-loved venues already taking part, and I look forward to even more joining the scheme.”
Current offers include discounts and rewards for cyclists visiting Audley End House and Gardens, Saffron Grange Vineyard, Audley End Miniature Railway, Kappa House, Blossom Bites Café, The Railway Arms and Church Street Gallery.
