A quieter Men’s Meet-Up this Wednesday, but a much needed one.
Holidays, other commitments and generally busy lives can easily get in the way of us making time for ourselves, but it was still great to get together for a couple of hours.
We split some wood, practised a bit of fire lighting, had a good catch-up and probably ate too many chocolate digestives.
Because it was a smaller group, we also had the chance to talk in a bit more depth about why we think men’s work and spaces for men are important, as well as simply getting to know each other a bit better.
Sometimes the quieter sessions can be just as valuable.
We’d be interested to hear what other people think too. Do you think having dedicated spaces for men is important? If so, why?
And what do you think are the best ways to engage men and get them through the door in the first place? Activities, walks, practical sessions, learning something new, food, sport, creativity… or something else entirely? We know the pub is often the obvious answer, but we’re interested in what other kinds of spaces and activities men actually want.
Let us know in the comments.
